Ningbo Airport, opened in 1990, has flights to all major cities in China and also external services to Hong Kong, Seoul, and Macau. The airport is a modern construction with a new passenger terminal (opened in 2002) including 16 departure gates and 7 jet ways. Although the airport has international flights (Hong-Kong and Taipei), it mainly runs domestic flights. These flights cover the major cities of China. For international flights, travelers must first go to Shanghai or Hong-Kong for a connection. From there, most destinations can be reached directly.
